Big, secluded sites. Excellent walking trails. Clean bathrooms. Easy access to Lake Michigan.

This is one of my most favorite parks in Michigan. A group of friends and I have been going here each 4th of July for the past 12 years. The parks is always well kept, clean and well managed. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The view from the beach is fantastic. The beach is rocky at the shore line, but you can swim out a bit to get away from that. Otherwise sandy with a volleyball net set up. The campsites are nice and wooded giving you some privacy. Love this place.

While the campsites were nice and the restrooms were clean, the level of service that we received caused myself and my friends to not enjoy our weekend. I would NEVER recommend this campground to anyone.

Very quiet relaxing park. Very clean and great biking in the park and on the road!! Will stay again!!

Sincerely,

First and foremost, the management and employees at this campground need a attitude adjustment. I wish that I was able to give them less than a star, because they DO NOT deserve that. My close friends and I had planned our trip months in advance, as many of us now live out of state, and we were extremely disappointed. We were treated like children, not the responsible adults that we are by the campgrounds employees; one going as far to call our friend a drug addict. Their "website" states that they do charge per adult camping unit per site, however the prices were not listed nor were they given when we called initially to inquire about the park. Once we arrived, there was no one to check us in and explain the rules of the campground or collect our payment. And eventually when someone did come around, he told us that there was not a charge per tent on the site. They then came around later with a clipboard in hand and demanded that we pay them, "because that is the way they have been doing it for the past 40 years."

A pissed off camper

Always loved coming here until we were charged for our 18year old kids ( that are going into their senior year of high school) the fee was 26.00 per child per night as they are considered adults. We should have demanded their own site! The manager would not consider that common sense was they are our kids. Rules are rules she said. To bad common sense isn't evident.
